Graeme is a former Royal Navy Engineering Officer and served in various roles around the world as both an engineer and in training and intelligence roles.

Since 2004 he has been involved with and lead some of the biggest projects and programmes in London Underground as deputy head of track delivery (TubeLines), Vice President Delivery and Head of Engineering in Station Upgrades (Metronet Rail and London Underground) covering station infrastructure upgrades, lifts and escalators.

Most recently he headed the  £1.2bn Northern Line extension to Battersea as it sought authority, and funding to progress, and secured the a joint venture main contractor to deliver this first new piece of underground railway for a generation.

A passionate advocate of empowering the workforce and allowing those closest to delivery to shape the future, Graeme is TfL’s internal expert in continuous improvement.

His aim is aiming to bring together the best academic research and practical best practice to deliver huge productivity improvement and cultural change to the sector. He is always keen to talk to anyone who can assist with progressing that challenging aim.
