Constructing Excellence Manchester and the LCI-UK North West Community of practice will be co-hosting this breakfast meeting from 8 – 10 a.m on Wednesday 14th March in Manchester. The theme of the morning is “A lean approach to housing – for better utilisation of limited resources and increased productivity”
The Farmer Review highlighted the issue of workforce and skill shortages, now at a record high, and this was recently echoed by the Federation of Master Builders who expressed particular concerns about Brexit. If we are to deliver the housing target of 300,000 per annum with the same or reduced workforce and skills, we need to make radical changes in what and how we deliver. The adoption of Lean Construction is going to be essential. Our speakers will explain the challenges and opportunities this represents, discussing both the supporting evidence and the practical solutions to achieving this on a large scale.
