We are delighted that the Lean Construction Development Pathway has been shortlisted in the National Highways RIP 2022 Awards, in the ‘Collaboration’ category.
During 2021-22, in close collaboration with leading Lean colleagues within our T1 partners and National Highways, LCI-UK have developed a standardised, industry-endorsed Lean construction training programme that is now being rolled out and piloted through the integrated project teams on six RDP/RIP & National Highways schemes. Co-funded by CITB, National Highways and our six T1 partners, the programme is designed to build Lean capability within the supply chain. Representatives from our partners pooled their time and resources to collaboratively develop a Lean construction competency framework, benefits tracking methodology and ‘best in class’ learning pathways and training materials to deliver Lean continuous improvement and help transform the Highways sector in line with its strategic priorities and long-term aspirations.
This nomination belongs to all those who have freely contributed their knowledge, expertise and support to the programme: our colleagues from National Highways, BAM Nuttall, Balfour Beatty, Costain, Galliford Try, Kier and Skanska.
